Meet the crew on Kidd Kraddick in the Morning!
Weekday Mornings 5-10am

Kidd Kraddick decided his career while serving as 10th grade class president. “We sponsored a big dance for the seniors but didn’t have enough money to hire a deejay. So I snuck out my dad’s stereo and did it myself.” From there he was hooked. After stints as a nighttime teen idol in Miami, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, and Tampa (where he was given the nickname “Kidd” by a program director), Kraddick took his show to Dallas, where he quickly made the transition to morning drive. Kraddick has been called the “goody two shoes” of radio; a sentimental family man who lives his life on the radio.

He frequently talks on the air to Carol, his wife of sixteen years, and his daughter Caroline. The conversations and stories range from mundane to profoundly honest. But it’s not just the openness of the show that has made his show top-rated in virtually every possible demographic. Kraddick’s big heart has also played a part. Each year, through fund-raisers and special events, his non-profit organization raises over a hundred thousand dollars to send local children to Disney World. For ten years, Kidd’s Kids has provided free trips for the families of hundreds of chronically and terminally ill children. Kraddick fills the seats of a 737 airplane each November and spend four days helping the children fulfill a fantasy. A film chronicling the trip won last year’s prestigious Videographer Award of Excellence.

Kraddick’s numerous awards include the WB Radio Music Award for America's Best Radio Personality, named to the Ten Outstanding Young Americans by the American Junior Chamber, Major Market Personality Of The Year by Radio and Records, and the distinguished Marconi Award for radio personality of the year.

Back in the spring of 1994, Kellie filled the front-half of a U-Haul trailer, hitched it to her Ford Taurus, and drove half-way across the country to start her job as a sidekick on the “Kidd Kraddick in the Morning” show.
Kellie began working in radio at the age of 19. She showed up at her hometown radio station in Florence, SC, every day with a box of doughnuts until they finally gave her a part-time job doing character voices on the morning show. Eventually she worked her way up to news director and then host of her own morning show. During her stint as a morning host, Kellie also worked as the weekend weather forecaster for the local CBS affiliate and went to college full-time, earning a B.A. in English from Francis Marion University.

Since joining “Kidd Kraddick in the Morning” Kellie has had some amazing opportunities. She and the morning show hosted the red carpet webcast for the “2000 Blockbuster Entertainment Awards.” Kellie also co-hosted “Live With Regis” during the “Women of Radio” week. Kellie even won a small role in Leann Rimes’ made-for- television movie, “Holiday in Your Heart.” And if you watch the Gameshow Network, you may come across a particularly embarrassing rerun of “Wheel of Fortune” featuring Kellie making a fool of herself on national TV. “Newport Jail Festival??”

While voicing live advertisements for his limo service (First Impressions Limousine) during "The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show," Kidd recognized that "Big Al" had a unique talent and he began including him in morning show bits. The chemistry between the group, both on and off the air, continues to grow with listeners asking for more. "Big Al" is credited with having penned the greatest two pick-up lines known to man: "What are you drinking?" and "You look nice tonight". He is best known for his many zany antics which include kidnapping the 'music icon' John Tesh; turning his head into a giant Easter Egg where he made his famous trip to Oak Lawn, and posing as "Air Horn Man" by showing up at the strangest places to blast his all-to-famous air horn. He has also escorted the "Seven Serops" on a "chick finding" mission to South Padre Island and got into a power struggle with Serop on "Who Da Boss" on the Super Bowl Misfits trip. "Big Al" was voted "Best Radio Show Sidekick" in the Dallas Observer Reader's Poll.

Kidd's Kids
Throughout the year, we raise money to send terminally and chronically ill children to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. We charter an entire Southwest Airlines jet for the trip each November. It's not cheap, but thanks to donations from amazing listeners (and from Southwest Airlines), we are able to pull it off. Last year, San Antonio alone raised more than $15,000 to send 11 local families on the trip. Check out the Kidd's Kids video and help us get ready for this year's trip by donating at kiddskids.com.

This year the application period is from June 2 - August 1, 2008. If you want to apply for your family or a friend's family, download the application here beginning June 2. Just be sure to have your application filled out and submitted by August 1.
