Gasoline prices are expected to continue dropping this Labor Day weekend, and could fall to near $3 a gallon before the end of the year, unless Hurricane Gustav decides to ruin things for us. Prices have declined for 38 straight days. But all bets are off on the downward spiral continuing if Gustav wreaks havoc on major oil operations in the Gulf of Mexico. Worst case scenario, prices could spike as high as 50 cents per gallon.  DON'T BOTHER TEACHING YOUR CHILDREN HOW TO SHARE AND PLAY FAIR... UNTIL THEY'RE SEVEN
Parents who try to teach the importance of playing fair to very young children may be wasting their time. Former Beverly Hills, 90210 star Luke Perry has denied reports he is reconsidering a return to the show's new spin-off, after initially saying no to a role.
The 41-year-old actor, who played bad boy Dylan McKay in the original teen hit, passed on an offer to join his former cast mates Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty in the new series in June. Still, Perry has been rumored to be returning to the show - appearing as the father of Garth's new TV son - but he says there is no truth to the claims.
His spokesperson Arnold Robinson said: "This story is not true. Luke is not appearing on the show." 8.27

Documents from prosecutors show that the mother of a missing Florida toddler (Caylee Anthony) wanted to give the girl up for adoption before she was born. The court documents also show that Casey Anthony's mother insisted that she keep the child.
Cops say Casey Anthony did not report Caylee missing for more than a month and then lied to investigators.
The mother is out on bail and facing charges of child neglect, making false statements and obstructing an investigation.
A Ryanair plane made an emergency landing in central France after the cabin suddenly depressurized.
The Boeing 737 was carrying 141 British and 27 Spanish passengers plus six crew members from Bristol, England, to Gerona, Spain, before the emergency landing.
The "depressurization incident" caused the oxygen masks on board to deploy. The French officials said the plane lost 26,200 feet of altitude in five minutes before the landing
French officials said 26 people were hospitalized and suffered mostly from chest, nose and ear pain.

Today, Paula Abdul says she is "thrilled" that old friend Kara DioGuardi is joining her as the fourth judge on "American Idol".
Paula told People mag, "It's about time another girl joined. More girl power."
Paula says DioGuardi's songwriter and producer experience will bring a different mix to the table. "She's going to be a little more different and more from the industry standpoint."

 HOW BAD IS IT IN SCHOOLS?.... TEXAS TO TRACK TRUANT STUDENTS BY GPS
Authorities in Texas will be using GPS to track students with a history of skipping school. A new program required them to wear ankle bracelets using satellite technology. Students in the program will wear the ankle bracelets full-time and will not be able to remove them. They'll be selected as they come through the court, and will target truant students with gang affiliations, those with a history of running away and skipping school and those who have been through court multiple times. 
It took eight years but the U.S. men's basketball team is the Olympic champs again, beating world champ Spain to capture the gold.
It was the closet game of the Olympics for the Americans, who held off Spain 118 to 107. The team was led again by Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade who scored 27 points.
The Redeem Team finished the games with eight wins and no losses. They beat opponents by an average of 28 points per game.
U.S. WINS MOST MEDALS AT OLYMPICS
The U.S. was the big winner at the Olympics with a total of 110 medals, 10 more than host China.
The 110 medals is a record for the U.S. in a non-boycotted Olympics.
China did, however, win the gold battle gaining 51 golds compared to the Americans' 36.
It was the first time since 1936 that the U.S. or the Soviet Union/Russia didn't lead the games in gold medals.
SWIMMING MADE UP 40% OF THE OLYMPIC COVERAGE
A study shows that news coverage of the Summer Olympics was focused on three sports and one athlete... Michael Phelps.
The study said that news about swimming and diving was easily the most popular Olympic event... swimming grabbed 40% of all the coverage in the first week of the Games. Gymnastics came in second with 11%, and track & field picked up 10%.
Over a quarter of all the Olympics news stories in the study were about Michael Phelps. That's seven times more media attention than the next most covered athlete, who is gymnast Nastia Lukin (4%). The No. 3 Olympic newsmaker is 58-year-old Mark Spitz, whose gold-medal record got beat by Phelps this year.
SHAQ GETS SLAPPED WITH A RESTRAINING ORDER
Shaquille O'Neal has been ordered to stay away from an ex-girlfriend after she took out a restraining order against him.
The woman told the judge that Shaq stalked her, threatened her with bodily harm, and made harassing phone calls... she said he's even calling and breathing heavy into the phone and hanging up.
The 23-year-old hip-hop artist (Maryjane) said she ended her relationship with Shaq last month, and that's why he's been harassing her.
Shaq apparently sent an e-mail to her that said, "I dnt no who the [expletive] u think u dealin wit u will neva be heard from one phone call is I gotta make now try me. Sho me."
Shaq and his ex-girlfriend are scheduled to meet with the judge on Sept. 4th to see if the restraining order needs to stay in place.
BY THE WAY-- Shaq was spotted with his wife Shaunie, during the July 4th weekend, around the same time this 'girlfriend' claims he was stalking her. Shaq and wife have been supposedly working on a reconciliation.

Justin Timberlake Denies Britney Duet Rumors
Justin Timberlake denied rumors that he will duet with Britney Spears on her new album. A rep for JT said that he "is not scheduled to be in the recording studio with Britney".
Justin and Britney dated between 1998 and 2002. Britney's new album is expected to be released early next year. Justin is dating actress Jessica Biel.
 Taylor Swift Is Not Dating Joe Jonas
Country sensation Taylor Swift brushed off rumors she is dating Joe Jonas.
19-year-old Joe was spotted in Florida watching 18-year-old Taylor perform in West Palm Beach. But Swift's rep insists she is still single, telling People.com, "He's an amazing guy and anybody would be lucky to be dating him." 8.22

Gwen Stefani and husband Gavin Rossdale welcomed a baby named Zuma. It's a boy, and his full name is Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale. He joins 2-year-old brother Kingston.
Even though everyone watching the Olympics wondered about the ages of several members of the Chinese women's gymnastics team that won the gold medal, the International Olympic Committee says there is still no proof anyone cheated. It said the controversy will be "put to rest."
Jessica Simpson looked at Tony's 'call log'... for Carrie Underwood's Name
Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood, Tony Romo's former girlfriend, could be in a full-blown feud.
Carrie said in the September issue of Allure: "The phone will ring and it'll be him, and I'll maybe not answer," suggesting that Tony's still calling her.
Jessica said, "Tony and I both laughed at that. We got a chuckle out of it." Besides, "If Tony wanted to call her and be with her, he would."
Joe Jonas and Taylor Swift are most likely dating... or not
We've been told that Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas are just friends. But the Jonas Brother turned up at the country star's concert on Sunday night.
He tried his best to hide, while at the Rascal Flatts concert in the West Palm Beach Cruzan Amphitheatre. He was seen five minutes before 18 year-old Ms. Swift took the stage.

 Hurricane Fay is hitting Florida right now. We have a brat Irish Setter named Faylin that may as well be a hurricane.  Today marks 34 straight days of gas price declines. Nobody is complaining about driving an SUV anymore, and gas is still $3.50 per gallon!  (ONLY 125 DAYS TILL CHRISTMAS!) HOBBY LOBBY SELLING - CHRISTMAS TREES ????
Christmas is over four months away—125 days and counting— yet one retail giant is already trying to push the Holiday season while temps are near the upper 90's. All Hobby Lobby locations now sell Christmas trees. They're not real, because real trees die after one month, nature's way of telling you to slow down and appreciate Thanksgiving. A spokeswoman for Hobby Lobby found nothing wrong with the new arrivals, and thought it was "great" that the trees were finally available in August. 
Fishermen, loggers and pilots were the three most dangerous jobs in America in 2007 and saw the most deaths last year.
The fishing industry landed in the top spot with 111.8 deaths for every 100,000 fishermen during the year. Logging came in second with 86.4 deaths for every 100,000 workers, and commercial pilots had a death rate of 66.7 per every 100,000.

Actor/comedian Chris Kattan and his fashion-model wife have separated after only eight weeks of marriage. Kattan and Sunshine Tutt were married on June 28th in California after dating since 2005. Dave Matthews Band sax player LeRoi Moore dies
LeRoi Moore, saxophone player for the Dave Matthews Band, died yesterday of injuries he suffered in an accident on an all-terrain vehicle in June. He was 46.
Moore died at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles.
He was hospitalized in late June after the accident on his farm outside Charlottesville, Va. He had recently returned to his Los Angeles home to begin physical rehabilitation when complications forced him back into the hospital Sunday.
